LTI-compliance and external apps

LMS365 complies with the Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) standard. This means you can integrate third party learning tools and courseware into your LMS365 courses as external apps.

LTI and the use of external apps in LMS365

LTI is a standard for education technology, developed by IMS Global Learning Consortium, which enables learning tools and courseware from different vendors to be integrated into a learning platform.

LMS365 complies with LTI 1.0/1.1. This means LMS365 enables you to integrate LTI-compliant learning tools and content into courses built in LMS365. In this way, learners can interact seamlessly with various LTI-compliant materials, such as audio and video, and interactive learning exercises provided by third parties and hosted outside of LMS365. Learners only need to log in to LMS365 - no need to log in to the connecting site. 

You can integrate LTI compliant learning tools and courseware into LMS365 by adding external apps to your courses.

IMPORTANT: Version 1.0 doesn't support grades and version 1.1 supports grades.

After June 30, 2021, IMS Global Learning Consortium will no longer certify legacy versions of LTI and will no longer support legacy LTI implementations. All support for LTI versions 1.0, 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.2, and 2.0 will end on June 30, 2022.

All institutions and suppliers should adopt the LTI 1.3 and LTI Advantage for teaching and learning integration to receive its many benefits.

To find example of LTI Apps that are free to use, please visit free-to-use LTI Apps. 

It is also possible to add Pluralsight content to a learning module as an external app.

NOTE: Currently, each learner's attempt with external apps in LMS365 is stated as completed regardless of whether it's completed or not.

Also, you can’t define the number of attempts. So if a user closes the window, this user can't attempt to take the training again, unless an admin deletes the previous attempt.
